Geosyntec Consultants, a leading international consultancy for environmental and engineering services, is seeking a Senior Marketing Coordinator to support its 75+ person branch office located in Kennesaw, Georgia.   The successful candidate for this position will work as part of a team of technical and corporate communications specialists committed to furthering the company’s business development objectives through the development of business plans and successful proposal documents.   Our sell-manage-do philosophy requires that the successful candidate be comfortable working directly with a variety of highly technical professionals in helping them meet their strategic business goals.

Responsibilities

Duties will include, but not be limited to:

Proposals and SOQs:

  • Administer the RFQ/RFP review and/or strategy session and work with technical staff to facilitate go/no-go decisions.
  • Develop and implement strategies to produce SOQs/proposals.
  • At the request of technical staff, manage the preparation of and draft the content for SOQs/proposals, letters of interest, and responses to inquiries including typing, editing, graphics, production, and distribution.
  • Compile existing source material, coordinate and/or write original material where needed, conduct interviews with technical staff to supplement qualifications and write technical and management approaches, provide editing and formatting support as needed, and coordinate final production of proposals and SOQs.
  • Schedule and track individual proposal elements and status and ensure compliance with all RFQ/RFP criteria, including applicable federal/state, and local acquisition regulations.
  • Manage development of presentations, including strategy, structure, and style; coordinate/coach presentation rehearsals.
  • Implement procedures and conduct post-presentation or post-contract award debriefing internally, regardless of outcome and revise business development and proposal/SOQ strategies as appropriate.

Collateral Materials:

  • Using the principles of marketing communications, manage, prepare, revise, and update collateral literature as needed, such as project descriptions, resumes, practice area specialty pieces, general announcements, and other related marketing materials.

General Marketing Support:

  • Lead and/or facilitate market sector or practice area business development activities, in conjunction with technical staff.
  • As needed, provide market analyses and competitor analyses, to support business development plans.

The selected individual will report to a senior manager with Geosyntec’s Kennesaw office, but will be expected to largely work independently, interact effectively with a variety of other technical personnel, and effectively prioritize multiple competing projects.  The selected candidate will coordinate with corporate-level marketing personnel to ensure that all deliverables are consistent with Geosyntec’s image and style.

Qualifications

The minimum qualifications for this position are a BA/BS in an environmental or engineering discipline, or a degree in journalism, communications, or public relations, plus five or more years of marketing experience in a professional technical services environment.  The candidate must possess an understanding of:  (i) the RFQ/RFP process; (ii) federal, state and local procurement procedures; and (iii) activities associated with the development and evaluation of marketing plans and their effectiveness.  Prior experience leading the development of proposals and SOQs valued at hundreds of thousands to millions of dollars and working with technical personnel is a must.

This position requires proven copyediting skills and an exception level of computer literacy, including the Microsoft® Office suite and Adobe Acrobat.  Familiarity with graphic design and production, desktop publishing, and presentation software, preferred.  Certification as a Certified Professional Services Marketer (CPSM), or the commitment to become certified within 12 months of hire, is highly desired.
